I spent my childhood years in Australia, as a wild, highly spirited child. I was always out exploring and enjoying the wide open spaces. Now, 60 years later, following many years in the education sector working around the world in Botswana Africa, South East Asia, India, North Africa and Middle East, I have settled in the wide open spaces of the Waveney Valley, Suffolk. I am close to family and enjoy exploring the joys of a lifetime of travel and yoga in my contemporary mixed media sculptures. I am outgoing and love people and singing in a rock band, but love to balance this with peaceful reflective time in my studio, creating unique sculptures for people to enjoy.

My initial exploratory sculpture work is NOT ceramic, kiln fired or bronze! Instead, I use a unique method which allows delicate recreation of the human and animal forms in single or group poses.
All my exploratory sculptures start with an armature (skeleton). Depending on the size (and whether it is for indoors or outside) this will be aluminium wire or reinforced steel. If it is a standing piece, it will then be attached or welded to a wooden or steel base.
I build the form using either reinforced clay or waterproof and weather resistant plaster for outdoors.
The finish is created using a range of weatherproof products and metallic coatings. Bronze gilt or verdigris reactive agents are then added to create the desired finish.
The end products have a gnarled and uneven texture which allows the gilt finish to enhance the figures and attitude of the pose.
I have recently started making moulds and casting my pieces in wax to take to foundry. I am having some exciting results.
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy making them.

Have you got a special occasion coming up that you need a unique gift for? Anniversary, birthday, new baby, a great photo you'd like to recreate?
I'd love to bring your ideas for personalised sculptures into reality to enable you to have unique, personalised sculptures for yourself and loved ones. I take on a limited number of commissions each year to create pieces for unique gifts, to commemorate your special occasions and memories.
Each piece is uniquely and lovingly created to reflect human movement, grace and joy.
Your sculpture will take 2 - 5 weeks to create and turnaround may be even longer depending on the number of orders I have at the time. To avoid disappointment please order your sculpture well in advance of the event you require it for.
The process of ordering is simple and keeps you informed every step of the way. You message me with your requirements or idea - with photos if you'd like - and I discuss feasibility for size and give you a price. The process of ordering is simple and keeps you informed every step of the way. You message me with your requirements or idea - with photos if you'd like - and I discuss feasibility for size and give you a price. I create the wire armature and set the first layer of clay or plaster. I then send you a short video of the piece for you to approve before it is dried and finalised.
Once you have seen and approved the sculpture you make a 50% payment. The rest of the payment will be due on completion along with postage costs if applicable.
I am now offering a foundry bronze casting option which I am happy to discuss with you.

Pricing will depend very much on the complexity of the piece and the number of figures involved.
Single seated figurine - £150 - £250
Single standing figurine - £250 - £350
Group sculptures will be priced according to the number of figures and size of required base and armature.
Bronze commissions range from £800 upwards
